Amos Oz
One night only at the JCCSF
November 11, 2009
Internationally celebrated author Amos Oz stirred the literary world in 2005 with his tragically comic, utterly honest memoir. A Tale of Love and Darkness chronicles Oz's childhood and painful memories, including the suicide of his mother. Although he strenuously rejects political readings of his fiction, he is one of Israel's most fierce and eloquent proponents of co-existence in the Middle East.
"I believe that imagining the other is a powerful antidote to fanaticism and hatred. It is, in my view, also a major moral imperative."– Amos Oz
