Shlomo Artzi
In concert
November 4, 2008
Shlomo Artzi has been one of Israel’s most successful performers since he launched his career in the late 1960s as a soloist in the Navy Chorale Troupe. Since then he has won numerous Israel Folk Festivals and earned recognition for his musical settings of poems by Bialik, Tchernichovky, and Amichai. Today his music fuses rock with Hebrew folk, and is frequently reminiscent of dance as a symbol for life and vitality. Shlomo Artzi has sold more albums than any Israeli singer, and his lengthy entertaining performance would be a shame to miss.
